Pvt.Space Launches Across Australia & New Zealand: The Social Platform That Isn't Watching You Back Life

Pvt.Space (Private Space Social Inc.), founded by Tim Gallagher, a privacy-first social media platform.
Launch of Pvt.Space across Australia and New Zealand — a social platform positioned as the alternative to surveillance-based platforms (no tracking algorithms, no behavioural ad targeting), offering every member full access to a complete toolbox from day one.

Announced September 10, 2026.

Released from Christchurch, New Zealand; platform developed and owned downunder, expanding into the Australian and New Zealand markets, with global ambitions.

To give Australians and Kiwis a genuine alternative to mainstream platforms that track every click and monetize personal data (referencing Cambridge Analytica and Zuckerberg’s congressional hotel/messaging refusal as proof of the double standard) — and to end the “lottery” model where only a select few creators get paid on mainstream platforms.

Through a no-minimums model where members switch on full monetization themselves, backed by Stripe & MassPay-approved payments, an 85% creator payout, and a toolbox including Privacy Plus, Public & Private Channels, Secure Messaging & Video Calls, Livestreaming, Pvt.Shoutouts, AI Localised Tips, a Built-in Wallet, Pvt.Unlocks micropayments, and 28-language AI localisation—all included for every member, with no tiers or paywalls.

Pvt.Space Launches Across Australia & New Zealand: The Social Platform That Isn’t Watching You Back

No algorithm tracking every click. No adverts stalking you for socks you mentioned near your phone once. Australians and Kiwis finally get a social platform built for people, not for data brokers.

Pvt.Space, the privacy-first social media platform built as a direct alternative to the surveillance economy, today announced its launch across Australia and New Zealand — giving people on both sides of the Tasman a place to post, connect, and create without being quietly profiled the entire time they’re doing it.

For years, the deal on mainstream social platforms has been the same: you get to scroll for free, and in exchange, every click, every pause, every “accidental” mention near your phone gets logged, sold, and sold again. Say the word “socks” once near your phone and suddenly your feed is a sock advertisement carousel for a week. Pvt.Space was built to end that deal entirely.

There is no algorithm quietly ranking, tracking, and shaping what Australians and New Zealanders see based on surveillance data. There is no ad engine bombarding members with products they mentioned once and never wanted to see again. Pvt.Space runs on a simple idea: people should be able to post and browse without being the product.

We didn’t build Pvt.Space to fix Big Tech’s surveillance problem. We built it because we’re done pretending it’s a problem — it’s the whole business model. They track your every move, mine your every word, then sell you back your own life as an ad. That’s not an algorithm glitch. That’s the plan. We tore up the plan.
— Tim Gallagher, Founder, Pvt.Space

The Future of Social Is Private

Everyone’s conveniently forgotten Cambridge Analytica. Facebook let a third party quietly harvest the data of 87 million users and weaponise it to manipulate elections — and the world’s response was a fine, a headline cycle, and a shrug. Then everyone logged back in the next day. That’s how normalised the surveillance model has become: even a scandal that big couldn’t kill it.

Mark Zuckerberg, in front of Congress, post-Cambridge Analytica. A senator asks him one simple question — which hotel is he staying in this week, and who has he been messaging? Zuckerberg freezes. Dead air. Then a flat “no.” The man who built a trillion-dollar empire mining that exact kind of detail out of billions of strangers suddenly couldn’t stomach handing over two seconds of his own. Funny how privacy becomes non-negotiable the moment it’s your data on the table. Yet that’s the deal mainstream platforms hand the rest of us every single day — hand it all over, or don’t bother logging in.

Pvt.Space isn’t interested in being the next platform with a data-harvesting scandal waiting to happen. There’s no trove of behavioural data sitting on a server for the next Cambridge Analytica to buy, leak, or “accidentally” leave exposed — because it’s never collected in the first place. The future of social isn’t more surveillance dressed up as personalisation. The future of social is private.

One Membership. The Complete Toolbox.

Pvt.Space is the only platform where every member gets full access to the complete creator and social toolbox — no tiers gatekeeping the tools that matter, no up sells to unlock basic functionality. Feature for feature, it’s likely the most feature-rich social platform on the planet.

Privacy Plus — go off grid. What happens on your profile Saturday night stays off your boss’s radar Monday morning. No employer, no recruiter, no nosy relative snooping through your feed uninvited

Public & Private Channels — build your own community space, open to everyone or invite-only

Secure Messaging & Video Calls — built-in, end-to-end

Livestreaming — go live, no third-party app, no algorithm deciding who sees it

Pvt.Shoutouts — personalised videos, made by members, for members

AI Localized Tips — send and receive tips with automatic language localization, no barrier between supporter and creator.

Built-in Wallet — earnings, tips, and payouts all in one place

10+ built-in monetisation streams — fully opt-in, never forced, ready when you are

85% creator payout — members keep the overwhelming majority of what they earn

Pvt.Unlocks micropayments — nobody wants ten different subscriptions just to read ten different articles. Pvt.Unlocks lets creators and publishers get paid per piece of content — academic papers, educational resources, premium articles — instead of locking readers into yet another monthly subscription they’ll forget to cancel

28-language AI localisation — post once, publish once, in one language, and it’s instantly readable in any of 28 languages — no translator, no delay, no excuse not to reach the world

Stripe & MassPay approved payments — trusted, secure payment rails processing member earnings and payouts across 200+ countries Global payouts — creator earnings paid out reliably, with a $50 USD minimum withdrawal threshold

No paywalled tools — every member, from day one, gets the same complete toolbox as the next

On the mainstream platforms, “monetization” is a lottery. A handful of creators at the top get the algorithm’s blessing, the brand deals, and the payouts — everyone else gets exposure, which is a nice word for nothing. Pvt.Space doesn’t ration access like that. There are no follower minimums, no invite-only creator funds, no waiting for a platform to decide you’ve “earned” the right to get paid. Every member gets the complete toolbox on day one — and when you’re ready, you flip full monetization on yourself. No algorithm decides who deserves visibility. No hidden feature wall decides who deserves functionality. No gatekeeper decides who deserves to get paid.

Why Australia & New Zealand

Australians and New Zealanders are among the most heavily tracked social media users in the world, funnelling attention and personal data into platforms headquartered on the other side of the planet. Pvt.Space’s launch across both countries gives users and creators a genuine alternative — one where posting doesn’t come with a side of surveillance, and where the platform’s business model isn’t built on knowing more about its members than their own families do.

Pvt.Space was developed and is 100% owned downunder — built in this part of the world, not imported from Silicon Valley — with global ambitions from day one. The Australia and New Zealand launch is the next step in a platform built downunder to go global, proving that a genuine alternative to Big Tech’s surveillance model doesn’t need to come from California to compete on the world stage.

About Pvt.Space

Pvt.Space is a privacy-first social media platform where everyday users and creators co-exist on equal footing. 100% owned and operated from downunder, built debt-free and without venture capital, Pvt.Space was created as a direct alternative to surveillance-based platforms — no algorithms tracking your every move, your every click, no behavioural ad targeting, and a complete toolbox available to every member. Pvt.Space is operated by Private Space Social Inc.

Built by Someone Who Has Done It Before

Pvt.Space was founded by New Zealand technology entrepreneur Tim Gallagher, who previously founded privacy and communications platform SafeSwiss.

Tim Gallagher

SafeSwiss grew to approximately 400,000 downloads and more than 100,000 registered users, giving Gallagher first-hand experience in building and operating privacy-focused communications technology for an international user base.

That experience became part of the foundation for Pvt.Space.

Rather than starting with a pitch deck, raising millions of dollars and then attempting to build a product, Gallagher took the opposite approach. Pvt.Space was developed privately, debt-free and without institutional VC backing, with the technology, infrastructure, privacy architecture, payment systems and product ecosystem built before pursuing large-scale growth.

The result is not simply another social media feed.

Pvt.Space brings together social networking, private communications, publishing, communities, privacy controls, AI-powered localisation and monetisation within a single platform, while deliberately rejecting the advertising and surveillance model that has defined much of the social internet.

“We’ve already been through the process of building privacy technology and taking it to users around the world,” said Gallagher. “Pvt.Space takes everything we learned from that experience and goes much further. Social media doesn’t have to mean giving a company permission to monitor everything you do. We wanted to build an alternative where the member, rather than the advertiser or the algorithm, comes first.”

Built from Christchurch, New Zealand, with a US corporate presence, Pvt.Space demonstrates that a globally focused social technology company does not have to emerge from Silicon Valley or begin life backed by tens of millions of dollars in venture capital.

It can be built from Down Under.
