SINGAPORE – Sanct, a Singapore-registered start-up that builds a social app for close friends and family, will be at Tech in Asia Conference 2026 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday, 15 and 16 September. Its booth, SF09, is in the Showcase Zone, near the pickleball area. The Showcase Zone is curated: Tech in Asia reviews every application before a company is given space on the floor.

On Tuesday at 3.01pm Singapore time, while the conference is running, Sanct launches on Product Hunt, the global site where new tech products are introduced each day. Mr Sion Abednego, founder of Sanct, will be at the booth when the launch goes live.

The company chose to launch in a room full of people for a reason. On Sanct, a user’s first friends are added by meeting in person and scanning each other’s QR code. Once a user has five friends, search and friend suggestions open up, but only to friends of friends.

Sanct has also released Episode 3 of its short film series, in which a family split between Jakarta and Singapore cannot be in the same room, but still finds a way to spend the evening together.

Limited free swag at booth SF09

Visitors who add Sanct to their phone’s home screen at the booth can take home free Sanct swag: sticker packs, cream “be there.” tote bags and cream “being there” caps embroidered with a small Sancty face on the side. All items are limited and given away while stock lasts.

The words on the swag come from the same idea as the films. In Episode 3, Keisha cannot come home, but she is still there for her family that evening. The roll-up banner at the booth says it in four lines: “being there. on the good days. on the bad ones. for friends and family.”

How user data is handled

Sanct has no ads and no public feed, and it does not sell user data. Every moment a user shares has an audience they choose: everyone in their circle, selected friends, or only themselves. Sancty, the small companion inside the app, processes data only inside the user’s own account in order to respond, and this data is not used to train public AI models. Traction and what comes next

Sanct opened its closed beta on 23 August at Jakarta’s Car Free Day, where 147 people signed up on the first day. Within a week it had more than 150 active users and over 1,600 people on its waiting list. The beta is now over. After the Product Hunt launch, Sanct will be available first in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, on a freemium model: core features stay free, and optional premium features will follow, with no ads in either.

“Sanct starts in person, so we wanted to be there in person too,” said Mr Abednego. “On Tuesday afternoon we launch on Product Hunt, right from the booth. If you are at Tech in Asia on Tuesday or Wednesday, come to SF09 and say hello. Bring a friend, add each other on Sanct, and take some swag home before it runs out.”

Mr Abednego is available for interviews at booth SF09 on both days. Sanct’s Product Hunt page: https://www.producthunt.com/products/sanct . Sign-ups for Sanct are open at https://sanct.social
